Coming up, the Walking Dead panel live blog!

The best damn zombie show on television!  Here's the Comic Con Live Blog of the panel for AMC's The Walking Dead.

This panel will be moderated by Chris Hardwick, formerly of MTV's Remote Control (way back when).

Welcoming to the stage, creator of Walking Dead comic, Robert Kirkman, Exec Producer David Alpert, Greg Nicotero (Special Effects), Gale Anne Hurd, Glenn Mazarra.

1:34 p.m.  Mod:  Tell us what happens in Season 3... all of it.  /Kirkman:  We have a thing called a prison that will be featured prominently.  It's pretty amazing.  It does not look like a backlot.  Alpert:  had a vision of what the comic would look like and it's really putting our foot on the accelerator.

1:36 p.m.  Mod:  Season 3 starts at the level that Season 2 ended on and doesn't stop.  /Kirkman:  That's pretty true.

1:37 p.m.  Mod:  As time goes on, these walkers are going to keep decomposing, so you have to keep up the detail.

1:40 p.m.  Mod:  When do we get to see the Governor?  When you see the Mishone... then the reveal... it's genius.  How close are you sticking to the comics?  /Hurd:  Mishone kicks ass with the katana swords.  But the intensity level is incredible. We've got our cast innoculated now.  The new people realize what they're in for.  And they've become just as passionate about the show.

1:43 p.m.  Mazarra;  So excited about the show.  Great team of writers, producers... really feel like we're in the zone about this one.  I'll call Greg and say, has this ever been done in a zombie movie before?  No?  Let's go for it.

1:44 p.m.  Mod:  So many terrible things happen to the characters in the comic book, how can you do that with AMC...?  /Kirkman:  We want to make sure the characters are fully realized... and when you see things happen to them... it's scary.  It hurts.  I would like to make an announcement that we're back October 13th.

1:45 p.m.  Mod:  First look at Walking Dead.

Slaying, swords, and shooting.  Merle's back too, knife strapped to his stumpy arm - awesome!

1:50 p.m.  Mod introduces cast - Andrew Lincoln, Sara Callies, Norman Beedus, Laurie Holden, Steven Feus, Lauren Cohan, Danai Gurira, David Morrissey.

1:52  p.m. Mod:  How is the shooting schedule?  /Lincoln:  It's brutal. But... what does it feel like to come to Comic-Con?  It's kind of like coming home.  Everyone is just busting their butts to bring you the best season yet.

1:52 p.m.  Beedus:  It looks like Christmas in here with all these camera flashes.  Mod:  What do you see your character like in Season 3?  /Beedus:  Away from Merle, he's bonding with other people.  Sofia meant alot.  He's sort of finding his way... growing up.  Keep finding new things about him all the time.

1:55 p.m.  Mod:  What's Andrea going through?  /Holden:  She's met this alpha female and they watch each other's back.  I think you are going to love her as Michelle.

1:57 p.m.  Mod:  What's up for Glenn this season?  /Feus:  He can't just dive in.  You've got to play it right... still got to play the cards.  I get a very identifiable arc... starts off a boy and becomes a man.  Third season he's kind of manning up and doing what he's supposed to be doing.

2:00 p.m.  Mod:  What's your life been like since you joined Walking Dead?  /Gurira:  I learned how to wield a katana sword.   There are times that you crash and you crash hard, but it's all good at the end of the day.

2:03 p.m.  Mod:  David, what's it like coming into the show?  /Morrissey:  I've known Andy Lincoln for a long time, but it's a great family down there.  The set works really, really well.  To join that team, is a blessing.  I keep pinching myself.  It's amazing.

2:05 p.m.  Mod:  Where do you think Rick is at right now?  /Lincoln:  This season you meet him at a place... sorry, just trying to think this one through... I think he is... I think he is very much at the point of Cormac McCarthy's the Road.  He's isolated himself from the group and his marriage.  That's the way he's protecting everything.  I think I'm going bat shit crazy... really bananas.  But I think it's him realizing he needs other people to survive.

2:08 p.m.  Fan:  Would you play any other characters on the show?  /Lincoln:  Well, right now I'm kind of having a bro-mance with Norman Breedus... but Carl's journey this season is one I'm really interested in this season.

2:10 p.m.  Fan (dressed up just like Rick Grimes):  How do you such convincing American accents?  /Cohan:  Andrew is in his accent from the second he arrives until the second he leaves.  I've learned that it's really important.  There's a danger of getting a real drawl.  Mod:  Maybe if you just sit in a Cracker Barrel for a few hours... you'll pick it up real quick.  (Laughs all around)

2:11 p.m.  Lincoln:  I stay in dialect.  Gale even said dial it in a little.  We don't want to have to dub you.

2:13 p.m.  Fan:   I'm a lady who loves sweaty rednecks.  Norman, you're my favorite.  /Beedus:  Thanks.  Fan:  Are we ever going to know the history of Daryl Dixon?  /Kirkman:  We don't like to look back too much.

2:15 p.m.  Fan:  My name is Jessica and I love Stephen.  /Feus (blushing)  /Mod:  How old are you?  /Fan:  12.  /Mod:  Oooh, let's dial it back a bit.

2:17 p.m.  Fan:  Daryl being such a popular character, would you consider having him in the comic book?  /Kirkman:  Uh.... I have my idea of what to do in the comic books and... no... let's just say... thanks for asking.

2:18 p.m.  Another young fan who's in love with Stephen.  /Mod:  We should never allow you at Legoland... I'm going to throw you into the Twilight panel.

2:19 p.m.  Lincoln:  I love Rick.  But I'm probably not anything like him.

2:22 p.m.  Laurie:  Andrea's changed a lot.  Now, I'm probably closest to Andrea on the show.

2:22 p.m.  Feus:  Glenn was a reflection of how I was when I was younger.  Chip on his shoulder.  I wasn't as popular with the younger ladies back then.

2:22 p.m.  Cohan:  My weapon skills are pretty amazing.

2:25 p.m.  Morrissey:  I don't think we know ourselves until we're put to the test.

Special announcement!

2:25 p.m.  Nicotero:  Announced fan who will be made into a zombie bust and she'll become a walker.

2:26 p.m.  Fan:  Why do you write the female characters so shady?  Telling men to kill people for them.  Why don't they kill people themselves?  /Alpert:  That's a great idea.  Maybe we will.

Bonus
We just heard from our friends at The Propagandist (835 5thAve) there's no cover until 9 p.m. tonight and no cover for Zombies and costumes all weekend. Zombie Walk: San Diego just declared them the official bar of the living dead!
