Lettuce Eat: Engagement Chicken

So I hear about this crazy chicken recipe that was being passed around from woman to woman, saying that if you make this dish, you're going to get proposed to shortly after. Now I'm married, but how could I pass up making something that held such promises? I mean, if someone is going to propose after tasting this food, it's got to be one hell of a dish.

So my search for the recipe was on. I found the original recipe off Glamour which looked horribly boring. I mean boring. I'm not quite sure how anyone would propose to someone after eating a dish so blah. However, in my search, I found someone who altered the recipe into something I did have to try.

Recipe after the jump.

This chicken was "super tasty" according to my husband. I enjoyed it, but would use less salt for the next round.

Here's the recipe:

Ingredients:

-Chicken (whole)
- Orange
- 1.5 TB dried Oregano
- 1 TB paprika
- 2 tsp Kosher Salt (I would only use one the next time I make personally)
- 2 tsp pepper
- Olive Oil
- Fresh herbs of your choice
- 1/3 cup white wine or water

Directions:

-Preheat oven to 425
-Zest orange and put zest and spices into a bowl, mix.
-Cut remaining orange into 4 slices.
-Clean chicken and separate skin from breast. Oil chicken.
-Put spice under skin and over. Coat it.
-Pour water/wine at bottom of dish.
-Place orange in chicken (and my secret ing celery to keep it moist!)
-Put chicken in oven for about 25-30 mins to brown, uncovered.
-Cover chicken, bring temp down to 400 and cook for an hour.
-Enjoy!
