Is this the EVO 4G+, Codenamed ‘Kingdom’?

Well, the EVO 3D is about to see daylight and be released to market, but it already looks like another phone that will carry the EVO name is about to be announced soon as well. The video, ever so cleverly titled ‘HTC EVO 4G+ Preview’ leads us to believe that this is another offering for the EVO line, and will be heading to Sprint soon.

The HTC Kingdom has already sought FCC approval, and the phone clearly takes design queues from the not yet released EVO 3D. Everything except for the camera is similar in fact. The EVO 4G+ replaces the dual 5-megapixel cameras with a single 8-megapixel camera. The slider that is used to switch between 3D and 2D photos on the EVO 3D, now switches between photo and video mode. It’s a mystery as to what the internals will look like, but hopefully it keeps the same beefy specs that the EVO 3D has, which includes the gorgeous qHD display and 1.2ghz dual core processor.

I was going to run out and get an EVO 3D but I'm torn right now because I can get a regular EVO on the cheap. I don't care about the having 3D but I do want bragging rights of the dual core processor in the nerd community: "What a nice little phone. Oh, it's a single processor? How quaint."

That alone may be worth reaching just a bit deeper in the pockets.

FYI for all of you, Verizon has a much faster 4G network, and they carry their own line of HTC phones. The Thunderbolt is a slightly better version than the EVO, and I am sure they will have more on the way.

The Thunderbolt is a slightly better version of the original EVO and that's part of the problem. It hit the market almost a year later and now its single core processor seems dated with today's environment of dual core phones, like EVO 3d, hitting the market. I think I'll still get an EVO just because its so cheap now and, like you said, still holding up against the pricier and newer Thunderbolt tech wise.

Verizon's LTE speeds are great but they come at a higher price. 450 minutes with unlimited data is $80 at sprint while a similar plan is $100 at Verizon. Sprint's nights and weekends also start at 7. It is well known that after their purchase of Sprint is switching to LTE as well.

Like TWL, Sprint is smaller, so they try harder.

What the fuck does that mean? Sprint bought Sprint or what. For a second there you made me believe you knew what you were talking about.

OOOOPS! sorry I was rushed when I left that comment. Sprint & LightSquared partnered for LTE http://www.thestreet.com/story/11164727/1/sprint-lte-announcement-could-move-stock.html

But you're right, I didn't know what I was talking about because I lazily stated that Thunderbolt was slightly better version of EVO based on a few specs i read. Turns out not in these parts. Thunderbolt has no HDMI out port. EVO does! Granted that may not mean a lot to everyone but it does to me as I just refused to sign for a laptop and sent it back after I read specs and saw there was no HDMI out port!

With a easily accessible HDMI slot on the side of the television at home it is just a dealbreaker to me. LOVE my new new EVO btw I wish I wasn't so behind the curve.
